The ?Equity in Education Fund? aims to support not-for-profit
organisations working to enhance access to education for young people
experiencing educational disadvantage based on their cultural identity
or geographical location. Many students from vulnerable, minority
communities and students living in poverty face a greater degree of
educational disadvantage when compared to young people in the general
population. Students who leave school early are much less likely to
find well-paying jobs, and are at more risk of poverty as access to
education is heavily linked to socioeconomic status.
We want to better understand the barriers to educational progression
for target groups, contribute to impactful philanthropy and smart
public policy that promotes equity in education for the Fund?s
target groups. The evaluation will give evidence and voice to awardees
target groups to promote their work at policy and societal level.
OVERARCHING OBJECTIVES OF THE EVALUATION ARE:
* Work with the Awardees and other Rethink Ireland staff/expert
consultants as necessary to build on the Theory of Change to create an
outcomes framework/agreed impact metrics per Awardee
* Collect qualitative & quantitative data from Awardee organisations
over the lifetime of the Fund (**Apply on the website**)
* Identify gaps in services provided for the Awardees target groups
and form recommendations including recommendations for future
